Hello and welcome to the online home of Ellis Custom Knifeworks. On our site you will find a selection of custom knives & straight razors, custom pens and pencils, and a large selection of refractory, forging equipment, and knifemaking supplies. Please take a few minutes to look around. These new pages are still under construction a bit and some of the gallery areas will be coming online in the near future as we have time to work on pictures and site updates. Ellis Custom Knifeworks is run by the husband and wife team of Darren and Kathryn Ellis. Darren is the bladesmith of the pair and fashions knives through forging and stock removal techniques. Darren prefers to work with high carbon steels such as 52100, O1, W2, and 1084/15n20 (Damascus) but he also produces knives from time to time using stainless steels (154cm, S30V). Darren's knives are completely hand crafted from start to finish and he performs all heat treating in-house. Kathryn is the pen turner of the pair, and enjoys crafting fine writing instruments from stabilized woods and composite materials. Ellis Custom Knifeworks is also your source for refractory and other knifemaking supplies. We specialize in high temperature tools and refractory for forges, kilns, and heat treating applications. We have been serving the needs of industry, small business, and the individual craftsman since 1999. |
